Dissociated Identity Disorder has often been referred to as a rare disorder. However, new research is demonstrating this disorder may be much more prevalent than once thought. Many clinicians have never received or have received little training in identifying and treating this disorder. This training seeks to briefly educate staff about the prevalence of the disorder. It also will review diagnostic criteria for the disorder and ways the disorder is often misdiagnosed. Lastly, the training will offer a brief overview of treatment options for those with Dissociative Identity Disorder.

Training Objectives

After this training, the following objectives will be met and attendees will:

  • Understand the prevalence of DID in the general population.
  • Be able to identify the clinical symptoms of DID and ways to differentiate it among other mental health symptoms.
  • Be aware of at least 2 treatment modalities for treating this disorder.
