Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy is an evidence-based approach to working with children and families who have experienced trauma. This therapeutic treatment model utilizes concepts from CBT and humanistic counseling theories in order to help the client develop coping strategies and face the experience of their trauma in a supportive and safe manner. Ultimately, the goal of TF-CBT is to help clients integrate their trauma experiences in a healthy and positive way. This training will educate clinicians on the principles of TF-CBT and offer several resources to utilize in clinical practice. However, please note that this is not a certification course.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand the foundation and theoretical roots of TF-CBT
  • Identify the PRACTICE components of TF-CBT
  • Describe the 3 phases of TF-CBT
  • Utilize several interventions based on TF-CBT principles

2.0 hours of continuing education credit will be available to those who complete the entire course presentation, take and pass the post-test (70% of questions, at a minimum, must be answered correctly), and complete a course evaluation.
